I. Introduction of Colorful Breakfast Cereal Loops

Breakfast cereal loops is one kind of the breakfast cereal. The raw materials are two or several combined cereal flours (corn flour, wheat flour, rice flour, oat flour, black rice flour, etc.), and some are supplemented with vegetable powder such as pumpkin powder, spinach powder, etc. The multi-grain ingredients provides the optimal balance of expanding, nutrition, crispness and other characteristics.

The puff snack food processing equipment can produce colorful cereal loops through crushing, extrusion, roasting and other processes. The loop shape is formed by the extrusion mold. Once the grain dough is extruded from the mold of the food extruder, water vapor escaped away, the extrudate will rapidly expand into a circle shape and is cut off immediately. The various bright colors can be obtained by adopting natural color ingredients. The crispy texture is obtained from the roasting oven.

Like all other breakfast cereals, in order to keep the puffed cereals loops soaked in milk from breaking, it is important that the cereals have a finer puff texture with smaller puffed pores. So a lower gelatinization temperature is required, so an extruder with longer barrel is required. In this way, the cereal dough is kneaded for a longer time in the extrusion barrel to achieve the desired configuration.

  1. Mix the grain flours, water and other raw materials in a certain proportion, and stir evenly.
  2. The mixture is loaded into the lengthened extruder, and is kneaded into an ideal dough by setting a certain temperature and pressure. A ring-shape forming die is installed at the exist of the extruder. After the dough is extruded from the die, the rapidly rotating blade cuts off the extrudate. Due to the pressure difference, moisture escapes, and the cut extrudate rapidly expands to circle shape.
  3. Then the cereal circles are dried, baked and through other processes to make them crunchy. Up to now, the plain flavor cereal loops are done.
  4. According to market demand, the seasoning drum can be used for the seasoning process.
  5. Finally, the seasoned cereal loops are dried, cooled and packed.
