Single-screw bulkers usually require more extrusion pressure to make some food. The extrusion pressure of the single screw extruder is much greater than that of the twin screw, so it is generally used for high extruding food such as macaroni, rice straws, and shells.

  6. The homogenizing curing effect is good. Usually, the maturity of starch can reach more than 95%, so that the processed aquatic feed remains stable in water, the product does not lose nutrients, and is easy to digest and absorb.
  7. At the same power, the output is higher. Good mixing performance evenly distributes the heat obtained by the material in time, accelerates the aging of the material, reduces the fluctuation of the material temperature, and improves the output of extrusion expansion products.
  8. The products have a wider diversity and adaptability, and can process aquatic feed, high-oil formula, high moisture, high viscosity, multi-color, sandwich, special shape products.
  9. The process operation is relatively simple, and the spindle speed can be adjusted according to the needs of processed products. Due to the characteristics of self-cleaning, cleaning is very convenient, there is no need to disassemble the equipment after each processing.
  10. Wear of wearing parts is lighter, the general wrong concept is that single screw wear is less, in fact, due to the stable material conveying and material flow characteristics of the double screw extrusion process, determines that the screw and cylinder liner wear is less than the single screw, although the number of screws is more, but the cost of parts is still lower than the single screw.
  11. Low production cost. Due to the good operation stability of the twin screw model, the starting material in the feed processing is less, the water and gas waste is less, the working time is less, the heat transfer efficiency is high, the finished product rate is high, the power output index is high, the accessories cost is low, and the final production cost is much lower than that of the single screw.

Conclusion:

The twin-screw extruder has the advantages of economical price, high stability, large output and convenient cleaning. But it is not suitable for some foods that require high extrusion pressure. The single screw extruder is more suitable for some foods that require high extrusion pressure.
