How does the overload protection of the extruder work?
In order to ensure that the extruder does not damage the motor and extrusion screw when overloaded, the transmission part and electrical part of the extrusion screw are usually provided with safety protection devices, and there is an audible and visual alarm system.
Mechanical overload protection is mainly installed between the motor output shaft and the reducer transmission system, and is achieved by shear pins or safety keys. The protective effect of the shear pin is that when the screw is overloaded, the shear pin is cut, the transmission between the motor and the screw is lost, and the screw is no longer rotating, so that the machine is protected.
The electrical protection device is to protect the motor or other electrical equipment used in the food extrusion machine from short circuit or serious overload damage. The method usually used is to install a safety (quick fuse) in the power supply system, or to add an overcurrent relay to the circuit. Its working process is that when the current of the electromagnet coil exceeds the allowable value, the magnetic force generated is greater than the pull of the spring, and the armature is attracted over, and the contact switch is disconnected, so that the motor and electrical components are protected from damage.
