I. Introduction of Baked Flaky 2D Papad Pellet Snacks (wavy round chip/triangle chip/hexagon chip)

Pellet snacks are made from the snack pellets through a secondary puffing process. Snack pellets are a kind of semi-finished snacks. They can be further processed at home by either frying or baking to become edible. And they are also the raw material for snack plants to develop a variety of interesting ready-to-eat snacks.

This page introduces our baked pellet snacks manufacturing machines for snacks factories. When half line works, semi-finished snack pellets are produced. And when the full puffed snack machine runs, the fully finished baked pellet snacks are produced. This line adopts advanced extrusion solution. The mixed material is pre extruded with a twin screw snack extruder first, and then realize gelatination in single screw food extruder. This two-time extrusion solution is suitable for a variety of grain raw materials. The forming of round/tri-shaped/hexagonal shapes are specially done by additional forming and cutting machines.

IV. The General Flow Chart for Baked Flaky 2D Papad Pellet Snacks

Take the processing of wavy circle potato chips as an example.

  • The wavy round snack pellets are made of potato and supplemented with wheat. Potato flour, wheat flour and water are mixed, and fresh shrimp powder/bean powder/beef powder can also be added to enrich the taste and nutrition.  
  • After the mixed raw materials are stirred evenly, the mixture isfirst added to the twin screw extruder at a constant speed to be precooked.
  • The pre-cooked raw material isthen conveyed to the single screw papad extruder machine. The dough gelatinizes under certain conditions of pressure, temperature, time and screw speed. 
  • The gelatinized dough is extruded into a big whole sheet with waves by a specially designed extrusion die. The wavy sheet is cut into Circles of desired size by a roller forming cutting machine. So far, the semi-finished wave snack pellets are completed.
  • Continue to puff the snack pellets (by Baking): Then comes the secondary puff by Baking process: Semi-finished wavy circle pellets are conveyed into the fryums roasting machine/oven. Depending on the output and desired texture, the roasting oven machine is designed as single or multi-layer. By setting the roasting temperature and roasting time, the circle chip pellets are roasted correctly. Finally, the production is completed through the seasoning and packing processes.
