Compared with the meat content of 0-30% by weight of ordinary pet food/kibbles, raw meat content of high-meat pet food is around 30%-70%. High-content meat raw materials greatly increase the nutrition and palatability of pet food, becoming an increasingly important market segment for pet food. The meat raw material can be dried meat powder, or wet fresh meat products.

The extrusion process is an important method of producing high meat dog and cat pet food. Improved twin-screw pet food extrusion process can handle either dry or wet meat materials in high content. The unique design of the twin-screw extruder improves the ability of mixing and kneading under high-moisture conditions of extrusion.
